XML is WCM's native format for content objects. The import XML function is useful for WCM users who have created XML format content outside of WCM, and who wish to move this content to the WCM database.

Before attempting this procedure, place the XML files to be imported in the [wcm root]//business/import/xml directory.

Import from an NStein native XML source file

• Source folder

  Enter the name of the folder that contains the XML format articles to be imported.

• XSL templates location

  Enter the name of the folder that contains the XSL templates.

• Data Integrity Settings

  Choose whether or not to use the original object ID.

• Embedded photos

  If different than the Source folder, enter the path to photos associated with the imported articles.

• Data Source

  Select the source format for metadata as follows:

  • JPEG IPTC, for metadata embedded in JPG format photos.

  • XML Documents, for XML format metadata.

No destination path is required for the transformed articles, because they are stored in the database, not in the file system.

Click Start import. After import, the transformed files and photos are accessible through the WCM browse or search functions.
